Giacomo Presotto

[ˈd͡ʒakomo preˈzɔtːo]

I am currently a PhD researcher at Goethe University Frankfurt and part of the RTG on Nominal Modification.

I am mostly concerned with syntactic theory, and how this interacts with principles of performance systems. The driving goal of my research is to discern what can be attributed to abstract rules of grammar and what should be ascribed to independent factors of human cognition.

My dissertation explores the theory of locality constraints as observed in (object) relative clauses, as well as extractions from weak and strong islands.
